Panama disease property under conditional sale contract

It is now public knowledge that the Tully Valley banana farm infected by Panama Disease owned by the Robson family, is now under a contract for sale to the Australian Banana Growers Association Inc. 15 months after the detection of Panama Disease on the property, this remains the only confirmed outbreak of this disease in North Queensland. The family has travelled a long road to get to this point and negotiations have not been straightforward. The sale is subject to a ballot for banana growers around Australia to approve the implementation of an increased banana levy to raise funds for the industry`s response to Panama Disease, including the purchase of this farm. The sale will not proceed if Panama Disease is found on another property. The Robson family nervously await the outcome of the ballot and have fingers and toes crossed that there are no further outbreaks!
