The ABGC has today announced that that a ballot of Australian banana growers has backed an industry levy that will in part, fund the purchase of the Robson family’s banana farm.
The Robson family are pleased that this key requirement for the sale to proceed, has been satisfied. Whilst there are a number of other conditions that need to be satisfied, the Robsons are cautiously looking forward to completing the sale in the next month or so.
However, it remains the case that the sale will not proceed, if Panama Disease is found on another property. The Robson family will continue to have fingers and toes crossed that there are no further outbreaks!
